Breast augmentation enlarges a woman’s breasts through the surgical placement of breast implants. It can restore breast volume lost after weight reduction or pregnancy. |
| |
|
| Procedure: |
A small incision is made and the implant is placed in a “pocket” that is created either directly under your breast tissue or under your chest muscle. Incisions are typically made around the lower edge of your areola or underneath your breast, just above the crease. |
| |
|
| Healing: |
Following surgery, you will wear a gauze dressing and surgical bra. There will be some swelling and bruising that will gradually disappear. You should not engage in vigorous activities for up to three weeks. You should be able to return to work within a week or two. |
